Tax Relief and Other Assistance for Hurricane Victims
Storm and flood victims are eligible for disaster-area tax relief. Citizens
also should seek out reputable charities for their donations. And, IRS has
information for its employees.
The IRS issued special tax relief for taxpayers residing in the Presidential
Disaster Areas struck by Katrina. This relief provides victims additional
time to submit estimated tax payments. The IRS is providing other assistance
as well.
