communication techniques, strategies and technologies (AAC), their families
and the professionals who serve them who have been impacted by Hurricane

Douroux Prosthetic-Orthotic Services has resumed operations. Medicare, Medicaid, Humana (Oschner)HMO, V.A. (Veteran's Assistance) Bluecross/Blueshield insurances are accepted. Some HMO's are allowing patients to go out of network for their emergency needs during September. Call Bernadette B. The National Emergency Resource Registry (NERR) is an online resource launched by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to assist in the coordination efforts between individuals and organizations responding to the needs of people impacted by Hurricane Katrina with those who have resources to aid in the response. LATAN's Hurricane Katrina Equipment Distribution Program - People with disabilities and older people in Louisiana were forced to leave wheelchairs, hospital beds, walkers, canes, communication devices, and other types of medical equipment and assistive technology when they evacuated from the path of Hurricane Katrina. Others find themselves in need of such devices due to illness and injury resulting from the storm. More Information >>
